BRASSO
Congratulations are in order to the Colts tonite in ending their season with their Guard topping both Phantom Regiment, and the Madison Scouts.
wilme861
Can someone explain why there is one brass judge score and 2 percussion judge scores? It seems to me, looking at the recap, that you should make sure your percussion is strong before your brass because you get more points with percussion. At least that's what it looks like. Insight? Percussion judges get averaged so no. Same weight as the single brass judge.
84BDsop
It is rare for the Friday night winner to not come out on top on Saturday...very rare...just look at the 30 years or more. In years where there is a clear front runner that no one ever really comes close to consistently, I'd agree. In a year like THIS one...where the "lead" changed #### near every show and the current 1-2 gap is 0.15?? No way...it's going to be decided by the performances tomorrow night...period. Remember that Regiment was in 2nd to BD after 2008 semis 98.050 to 97.675...a difference of 0.375. BD only went up by 0.05 on finals night, while Regiment improved 0.45....juuuust enough to nip BD. BlueStainGlass
PR was third in prelims in 2008.Dcp where people miss the point and have to prove someone wrong
27Socal
This judging system is crap. Look at the execution drum score for Bluecoats. Kristensen had them 1st, Dunn had them 5th, with a 6 tenths difference. Were these two guys even in the same stadium? Maybe one of them was at the other music convention in town. This isn't right screwing with these hard working, dedicated kids like this. DCI really needs to go back to tics for the execution captions. This opinion system lets these clowns get away with this crap.
FlamMan
Can we all agree that this was a horrible way to announce the scores for the last block of Corps ? It was a confused mess... disjointed, and bespeaks of a mickey mouse operation imo This was no way to do this. Oh well, we dinos are used to this by DCI lately( haha!) Well, it is a MM operation. Small time and bush league. And for the love of God, please tell Crocker that its time to retire. Edited August 8, 2015 by FlamMan
Aké
Whats the lowest a corps has placed that also got a caption award? I know PR 2010 Got High Percussion in 6th, is there anything lower than that?
Jeremy.
so just as an illustration of how 1 judge can swing things Prelims visual analysis judge had Cadets behind BD (who was in 2nd) by 0.2 tonight's visual analysis judge (the lovely ex-27th member Debbie Torchia) had the Cadets behind BD (who were now in 1st) in visual analysis by 1.7pts that's a swing of 1.5 points OVERNIGHT / and made a 0.75 difference in the final scores this aligns closely with her history as a judge as does George O's scoring Guard Thursday night Crown took guard over BD by 0.2 pts Friday night with George O scoring, BD was over Crown by 0.1pts - again, closely following his judging history So not as big a swing there - but still a 0.3 difference, amounting to .15 in final score As always, it is quite interesting. And people get at me for calling Torchia a BD Homer.

Is it so surprising that they come up with different numbers when they look at different things?
