Official DCI Semifinals Thread 2015

Recommended Posts

Hey I was gonna run by the gas station later. Mind throwing some lotto numbers my way since you know about the future so much?[/quote

It's a chat forum- what's wrong with this? it's more interesting than saying; "I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow!"

Sanford Trophy Race (Percussion Title)

Going into tomorrow taking last the 2 scores, here's how the top 4 including Carolina Crown because this caption could make or break their chance for a 2nd gold.

The Cadets 19.425
SCV 19.425

Blue Devils 19.375

Bluecoats 19.25

=================

Carolina Crown 18.8
To me its a 3 horse race for the drum title between BD, Cadets and SCV. Crown's has the DCI Championship if their drumline plays the show of their lives. Interesting to see how things will shake out tomorrow.

You are absolutely correct. But there are a lot more problems with the black. How about clean drill sets? With the light pants, the wonderful drill sets just slapped you in the face. With the black, you have to really look hard to even make out some of the more compact sets. Same problem. Black being covered up by black around it or behind it. You have one more chance George. Do the right thing, for your members sake, and go back to the old uniforms for finals.

Not happening.

I just can't believe that SCV show and that Cadets show aren't guaranteed a top 3 finish. That's how good this year is.

so just as an illustration of how 1 judge can swing things

Prelims visual analysis judge had Cadets behind BD (who was in 2nd) by 0.2

tonight's visual analysis judge (the lovely ex-27th member Debbie Torchia) had the Cadets behind BD (who were now in 1st) in visual analysis by 1.7pts

that's a swing of 1.5 points OVERNIGHT / and made a 0.75 difference in the final scores

this aligns closely with her history as a judge

as does George O's scoring

Guard

Thursday night Crown took guard over BD by 0.2 pts

Friday night with George O scoring, BD was over Crown by 0.1pts - again, closely following his judging history

So not as big a swing there - but still a 0.3 difference, amounting to .15 in final score

As always, it is quite interesting.
