palmettomello
There is a pretty good video from last night on the tube that zooms in on the ending. Catch it while it's up.

N.E. Brigand
Roxanne is shocked by the son's reaction and divorces him, wipes him out financially, and takes the kids. A sort of "Medea" of the courtroom, as it were?
N.E. Brigand
the voiceover towards the end ("It's Green Machine! Now Devil in Blue! Green Machine and Crown it's a photo finish!") Holy Garfield was in the mix too.
N.E. Brigand
Personally, I would like them to make a change on Finals night . . . have the son and the robber fight. Robber knocks the rifle out of the son's hand and pulls a pistol out of his belt ready to shoot the son. Roxie jumps out of the coach and picks up the rifle and shoots the robber just in time to save the son. Self-defense (no cold-blooded revenge) son and Roxie ride off into the sunset. "Self-defense" is the phony, cliched way that almost every action film ever uses to justify the hero executing the villain, so the audience can pretend they're not bloodthirsty. (In real life, most violent criminals don't die in gunfights with the police.) It's so refreshing when a story doesn't do that. Better to have the hero shoot the villain in the back than to resort to a jerry-rigged self-defense. "Spartacus" had the guts and honesty to make the audience root for cold-blooded murder.
