Sizzlin' in HOTlanta (DCI Southeast, Atlanta - July 30th)

Recommended Posts

so...BD...the hornline is incredible...percussion was yowza...

has to be one of the worst electronic packages I've heard..synth was too loud...pit sounded artificial..mic wasn't working part of the time..too much added tone changes to natural sounds...

king of the gimmicks...I just wish they'd go back to winning by playing ######## jazz...

now...let's see if Bloo can out BD BD...

BD's sound is the jazziest sound in DCI. Their arrangements may not be full on jazz anymore, but it's still there every single year

Something weird in that last chord. Wrong note or bad feed?

Rough night for Bluecoats visually

Initially, but it's cleared up a bit now so far.....

haven't they done that the last few years? or am I mistaken?

Yes, it has become their thing, like the Crown formation. The crowd loved it in Nashville, but it seems sort of routine to me. Dunno, they play and March so cleanly, but for some reason you just get this weird feeling like they are going through the motions. I am sure that is not true, I know the BD kids are no different than anyone else in an elite corps.

I love Crown, but I don't see BD finishing third. I think Bluecoats will win the gold, and BD silver. Crown will win bronze, because their marching forms are just tighter and more impactful than SCV.

I think of Bluecoats as more trying to be Madison Scouts of yore than BD of any era. Slides aside, this is a classic Madison show.

ok -- im taking credit for having said this out loud first !!!

all you band wagoner's can hop on in the back :-)
