GREAT hornline with charts from Tim Salzmen and great drum charts by Jim Campbell. https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A2KLfaI3OVZdAAoAMRwPxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTB0N2Noc21lBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNwaXZz?p=1979+guardsmen+drum+corps&type=sbc_dial&hspart=att&hsimp=yhs-att_001&ei=UTF-8&fr=yhs-att-att_001#id=1&vid=3af79b91fe7b28406d034c21c4a6f848&action=view Stan Kenton would have really dug that! I'd love to see BD or even Crown do a modern re-take on that iconic LA Neophonic chart.

As in BD being motivated by what happened in 2008. I firmly believe that's one of the reasons they went unbeaten in 2009-2010. Hindsight 20/20, finals night 2008 was probaly the best thing to happen to BD. I think we have someone who marched BD 2009-2010 on DCP. Would like to hear from him/her what was the mood of corps following 2008. In general, their run from 2009-2014 is probably the most dominant 6 year run by a corps ever - Undefeated in 2009 (won by 1.55) - Undefeated in 2010 (won by 1.15) - 2nd place in 2011 (by just .55) - Undefeated in 2012 (won by 1.05) - 2nd place in 2013 (by just .25) - Undefeated in 2014 with a record breaking 99.65 (won by 2.475!!) Nothing comes close to that. And all of those shows were absolutely amazing Edited August 16, 2019 by Cappybara 1

The drill and the flippy floppy stuff would be so much more impressive in real life. I saw it early and mid season. It was a total early season crowd-favorite and had a fun Cirque du Soleil vibe. Kind of a bummer that it couldn't get ahead of BD (no way it was getting ahead of Cadets that year).
ReturnOfTheSonOfSUAPYG
Pretty much any late 70s show for me (Bridgemen probably). As much as I'll defend this era of drum corps, the 70s crowds just seem to be more fun ... ... or BD 2007 at the Rose Bowl. The contact high in that stadium must have been something else.
