I've seen several competitive marching bands play Rihanna's "Umbrella", which is a good song, but none of them really sell it. Her "SOS" is just OK (it's "Tainted Love" with a new, lesser melody). I'm not a fan of pretty much anything she's done since 2010, although pop music critics seem to like that material for its grittier content. Blue Stars are performing works by the Carpenters and their comments have been positive. Actually I’m surprised ABBA’s music has not been suggested in the Music a Corps Should Do thread. There could be some interesting possibilities with it, but I am not suggesting it for BAC. It has been a long nine months since I have seen most of these people (members, staff, volunteers). As I get older, it occurs to me just how much I value all these people.
