In that drumline segment you can hear the many decades-old traditional SCV drum tag at 1:13-1:15...awesome!

I've made an improvement to the SW Championship show that I think we can all get behind. Wonder if SCV would post something like this to help it along?

Bonus points if you can get the year that was lifted from.

I yelled Vanguard at this spot at the Southwestern and I was the only one in the nosebleeds that did it and all the people around me looked at me funny...

Good ear, TRacer. SCV used that drum tag at the start of their 1978 show, and in the middle of Fanfare and Allegro in 1984. Any other examples?

Funny thing: while watching the San Antonio show at home with my wife and daughter, I yelled "Vanguard" at this very same spot. They looked at me as if to say, why'd you do that? Well, now they know!

Tenors are absolutely incredible. Equally impressive is the stick control or the snares. Modern lines have a tendency to play high off the head - A LOT! Great to see that SCV can bring it even playing with lower stick height. Doing so really brings out the dynamics as a battery.

We used it in ' 84 as you noted, then again in '85 at the end of Festive Overture, '86 had a "twist" on it at the end of opener, you can hear it in '81 at the very end of closer, the '73 version of F&A, the list goes on....

Lesser known fact: inner beats are super sexy.
