They were used in 1991 and 1992 but they more like a "pant-wing" combination. perhaps a soloist in 86? but it's good excuse to go watch that show again, been a while so about those North tenors....do they still have them around? that'd be way cool

I'm writing down as many as I can identify (which is definitely not near all of them), and will add others as people point them out (and will actually update them, unlike the vanishing Uniform Database updater). 1976: Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor cadence to open 1977: 1979: La Suerte de Los Tontos in the opener 1980: La Suerte 1982: 1986: 1994: 1996: 1997: 1999: 2003: Blue Rondo a La Turk snippet in the opener 2007: wings in guard in closer (h/t Cadevilina Crown) 2009: 2010: Mirrors on the stairs 2012: visibly hanging jackets under the stairs 2014: that brass feature in the closer 2015: does the use of Rihanna here count as a shout-out to the Kpop section? Also: can anyone identify what the feature right after "Blue Rondo" is in the above video? It sounds incredibly familiar, but I can't place it. I would say the 2017 guard tops are from the 2007 white guard costumes. The wings appeared in 1982 but also 91 (closer) and 92 (La Suerte). They also play 2 notes from 2013 Re:Rite of Spring in the beginning. The guard's tunics in the beginning are also blue versions of the orange tunics from 2013 Re:Rite of Spring Can I request for them to bring back the monkey drumming from 1994/95. Just sayin' :)

Just sayin' :) Ooh, can we do a wish list next? I'd love for BD to revisit or nod to "Tess' Theme," the gorgeous, smoky Dick Tracy ballad from '96. Doesn't have to be this year. :)

Just sayin' :) I absolutely love the opening guard costume. The blue tunics gives you a similar silhouette as what they would have wore in the 70's. (Blue jacket, black skirts and boots). Love love love!
Sideways
This show is simply turning into auditory ear candy. If they toss in some references to Chanel One Suite or When a Man Loves a Woman the crowd in Indy is going to lose it!
BD 79-82
In a YT video posted from Seattle I definitely heard Dindi (a trumpet duet ala the 1980 sop duet)

saxfreq1128
Is it just me or are the crowd vibes in the YT videos this year MUCH better than usual? I'm trying to remember the last time every crowd, in every video, was so audibly pleased with BD's show... Definitely not '10, '12, or '13 (definitely not '13). And not '11 from what I can remember, even though that show was an attempt to be crowd-pleasing. Most people seem to like Felliniesque, but I still don't remember the crowd I saw it with Oohing and Aahing for the whole, like this year. People liked Ink but Crown definitely soaked up most of the good vibes that year. I adored 1930, but it wasn't especially popular right, more respected than loved? I don't know—this feels new to me, honestly.
