  1. 1. With the 2022 season nearing completion, what is the most pressing issue DCI should be concerned with in the off season? There are probably multiple right answers, which one do you feel is the highest priority? Choose one.

    • Leadership - time for a change at the top and possible org restructure
      8
    • Competition - re-examine the competition model to help less funded corps be more competitive and promote more fan friendly shows
      14
    • Safety and inclusion - working to ensure performer safety, diversity and inclusion is top priority
      33
    • New touring model - development of a new touring model to help ease costs and promote more regional opportunities
      22
    • Financial stability - cost cutting measures to ensure financial stability and a level playing field competitively
      24

That’s a very reasonable compromise that would give DCI time to be flexible and prepare. I understand it always being in Lucas oil, but other parts of the country should have the opportunity again to experience it, the fans will follow wherever it’ll be held.

At least move the regionals around, or have them in a different order.

Based on what? Indy is an 8 hour drive from my home. West Coast is totally out of the question.

Folks find a way when it is announced well in advance, for an event such as championship week. I’m sure many west coast fans make the trip to Indy, and even then, attendance I predict wouldn’t be hurt whatsoever with a 1-in-5-years departure from Indy.

People on the west coast have more money on avg than Midwest east coast. I'd say Indy is a nice hodge podge of locations but if it goes west it would mainly be west coast. Also, the cost for the majority of the groups to travel out west and then back east? Sheesh

Quality, visionary leadership is the first step to dealing with all the other issues.

I believe and my answer is Financial issues, the cost to participate is getting out of reach for many. The DCI org and the individual corps need to explore other revenue sources. This includes another answer in the above poll, the touring model. A regional model can be successful and lower the cost of resources. Part of that financial answer is that DCI get to use LOS for a very very very very low cost (since its owned and operated by the County). The 2nd most important is member safety, it's still going to be an issue going forward...because people suck, and sucky people slip thru the cracks and can be creative in hiding their past.
