Is there a reason that Southeastern Championships hasn’t been attended by everyone in the past few years? Been wondering this for the past little bit. It used to be the same as SA and Allentown where if you were a world-class drum corps, you were there.

It use to be at the Georgia Dome then the new Mercedes Dome but moved to the old Turner Field stadium (new name I can't remember). Ever since the move there it was scaled back.

Atlanta is my favorite regional. Corps have cleaned so well by this show. Still intrigue for what still may come with final tweaks. No knock on next week’s Allentown, but this show doesn’t split into 2 days.

Some things I’m looking forward to see - in no particular order:

Some of the early performances of MCDC, Spirit, Madison, BK. Who’s trending upward. These corps don’t get as much attention so this is their time to shine in a big show.

Then Troopers. Still surprised they haven’t scored higher. Maybe better execution will get them there.

Too bad Colts aren’t here today. And Mandarines. This is the year they should be here!

Cavies percussion. Can they continue their DOMINANCE and take top drums!  I’m hoping for it quite honestly!

Any new wrinkles held back to toss in tonight? In 2015, Crown surprised everyone with the gold-colored flyover. The place went nuts.

Can BAC continue to close the gap?

Can Crown overcome an early performance slot?

Will judges finally give Phantom Regiment the love they truly deserve? Score what they see, not perceive

And BD. Will anyone challenge them and create doubt about their inevitable undefeated season?

Will all corps be able to do a field show with all (most) performers. No standstills and scratches!

GOOD HEALTH, ALL!

It's not in a dome anymore, so they're avoiding scheduling corps to perform during the heat of mid-day.

Brassboy: This was news to me, but with an open stadium and Heat/Humidity factor makes a lot of sense. Is this a permanent venue change. Makes NIGHTBEAT in Winston-Salem the following day quite significant when balancing "all" the Corps Scoring going into Allentown. Thanks for posting. DrumCorpsRelic.

They scored an 18.8 last night. Different show from The Masters but that is one nice percussion score. I was worried about them because with all the sickness it is possible something like that could set them back. I worry about the "out of sight, out of mind" sort of thing since they had not competed in a while, but last night's score definitely helps. Not saying they will take percussion tonight but they certainly are capable of it. Blue Devils were HOT last night in perc. So was Boston. It's a great year for percussion. But on the right night I have no doubt this Cavaliers percussion section can win. They are the real deal.

Just home from Cavaliers rehearsal site. I always went to Atlanta rehearsal when my son marched from 2017 to 2021. Honestly, I’ve come to expect the corps to look a little tired at Atlanta rehearsal. That has been my experience in the past.

That is not what I saw today . I saw  a Drum Corps  in high spirits and instructional staff still managing every detail of getting better.

it was hotter than hell and no one seem fazed by it. Saw no holes to recent sickness outbreak.

Phantom and Cadets had best watch their six, as while maybe not tonight but soon, “objects in the mirror are closer than they appear”.

We’ll see…😎

Mentioned it in the Troopers thread, but Troopers have closed their rehearsals to the public for the remainder of the touring part of the season in hopes to avoid the stomach bug

I always remember being told to pick it up around Atlanta, the energy of finally competing has faded and the heat has been crazy through Texas. Texas was always hype as it was the first true regional since Minnesota was split. Though on the backside of Atlanta and nearing August always seem to kick us into gear again.

Man I have not been able to catch too many Flo streams this season just due to random social plans coming up. Hoping I'll be able to get back from dinner in time for all the corps after the intermission
