IMO Yes, because there are SO many drum corps directors and board members getting rich on the backs of their performers. Pfft.

Pfft. Ok, that really isn't that much as the full time director and manager of as large an organization with as many employees/staff as a normal drum corps has. Middle managers in the corporate world have higher salaries and less responsibility.

Dchristian125
Posts From The Pressbox 2 mins · The "Any instrument" rule just passed the DCI instructors caucus. It now goes before the Directors for the full vote. It won 19-12. The Directors vote will be in the next hour.

cixelsyd
Any Instrument Policy will advance to the member corps for a vote, as it passed in the Instructors Caucus. However, the split vote there (19 to 12), compared to the unanimous approval they typically gave every other new toy, shows the appetite for this change is not where it needs to be yet.

In my neck of the woods, performing arts orgnizations with budgets comparable to those of DCI corps have directors in that same salary range. It will be unbearably painful in the lead up to and the act of it passing. But, once it does pass you will be free to pee all over everything as you always have pain free. Having passed a kidney stone in my twenties (in the middle of the woods, which meant I had to walk some 15 miles to seek treatment), I chuckled at this.
