My son goes to school with one of BDs trumpet players this season. He played some of the music for him. Son said it's absolutely bonkers. BD doing BD things.6 points

My guess is that unlike the Boy Scouts, the Cadets don't have the 2.4 billion dollars to pay all the victims. So, the judge in the Cadets case ruled that should any "Successor" organization pop up, THEY would be liable to pay all the Cadets victims going forward. And apparently, there are a bunch of them.4 points

Yeah...I'm so old that I remember a time that you didn't know what anybody was playing until the week AFTER the first shows, and only by reading the reviews in Drum Corps World or Drum Corps News. And, for those of us in the Boston Area, there was the Herb Cole column in the Sunday edition of the Boston Globe detailing all of that weekends shows. Yes, we had that many corps here in New England then!4 points

Because they might not get beyond the “paying the plaintiffs” part. The Cadets can’t continue. A group of like minded people could launch a new corps theoretically. Call it whatever. Go for it. The pool of kids and the pockets of money available for scouting are much deeper than the unregulated summer youth band circuit where hormones rage and temperance is scarce.4 points

It just takes for ever these days for the first show. I loved back in the day when the first show was the weekend after Memorial Day. Good luck, BAC.4 points

Dare I say one of the greatest movies of all time... Edit to add: I never watch movies in theaters more than once, and I watched this one three times in theater and many times since.3 points

Even when our guesses are completely wrong 😂 It is a great time of year. I can still believe everyone will medal.3 points

Absolutely love it. Terri, I could be wrong, but the first image does look like the character is from a black&white film merged with the painting esthetic. The second imagery is from a famous painting...... My theory is they may be pulling from multiple sources of art forms to convey the them as a whole. ????????????? 🤔3 points

One year before the annual Nov. 11th Veterans Parade in Boston began, I walked with my brother down Comm. Ave. to where Boston was lining up. All the side streets were loaded with marching units. You could tell which class A corps was on what street by what they were playing. If there was an occasional new piece of music, you had to stop and see who it was. Back in the mid 60's, very few corps had very few, if any, horn players who could read music. Most corps would maybe change one or two songs each year.2 points

BSA re-branding is a business move, which won't do anything to fix the wrongs in their past, but will allow them the illusion, in the public's eye, of being 'different' from what came before. They can afford to do that, given the size of their clientele and the dollars involved. Cadets are, in effect, a small local business, with annual revenues that are probably dwarfed by half of the mom and pop businesses in Erie, but with financial liability issues that are on a scale several times their actual annual revenue model. No one would insure a re-brand of that business, and no one but someone who enjoyed paying out legal settlements would invest dollar one. They're dead. Let it go.2 points

My understanding is that the suit names the Garfield Cadets, Cadets of Bergen County, the Cadets, CAFE, and all other "Successor Organizations". The Boy Scouts victims have been or are being paid. The Cadets are broke so nobody is getting paid, unless a new "Successor" pops up and raises money.2 points

And we had complete music and drill, or else the score was severely diminished.2 points

Was just having a little fun. Well okay then, best wishes to BD. 😬2 points

I believe the theme is The Romantics. The idea is about music that embodies the ideals and tone of the artwork, composers (I won't be surprised if they even bring back a snippet of "When a man loves a woman". This show already has Scott Chandler's creative nuance and blending of color to paint his own picture on the field. This show is NOT A SHOW of the music of the romantic era.2 points

Full disclosure. Thought JJ was thinking about their 2016 Judas show, hence the bless you child reply. Remember Terri that it's better to be seen than viewed.2 points

Thanks. I just went for my annual physical Monday and I asked my PCP about memory lapses. She said it was normal at my age. So much fun, this getting old stuff. It does beat the alternative. 😉2 points

What part of The Cadets have put on the dirt blanket don't people understand? Stop clinging...even for the most outlandish of wishes and hope. If a corps folds, so be it and move on.1 point

Wasn't trying to be harsh, but I can see how that could be interpreted that way. Merely pointing out that not all Super Hero shows are necessarily good or great implementations of the idea.1 point

So, I wouldn't be fulfilling my job as a BAC fan if I didn't post today that Boston Crusaders fly into Castleton two weeks from today and begin rehearsals two weeks from tomorrow! And, I believe the drum line moves in a few days earlier. It is time!1 point

Absolutely. Some how i believe it will come, it's just when.1 point
