Well, you did it to me again, first BD beats Bloo then 49ers beat my Lions. All this, and I still count you as a friend.

My cousins are Lions fans. I told them, "I feel for you, after all its only once every 20 years or so you get to have hope." It's somewhat tempered by the fact that they're also U of M alums and went to both games.

Well it was a valley, but after the 4th lift, it starts to show as a hill.

beautifully designed and performed show. i only watch hi cam during the summer broadcasts and i found myself scratching my head over their scores at every regional and at finals. they march soooo well and have such a gorgeous brass sound. i want more!

Was just nostalgically watching Plymouth Canton HS’s amazing take on Harmonium from 2001 and I agree! Great piece, amazingly hard to field, would be so interesting to see modern SCV try their hand, even if it doesn’t really seem to be their style these days …

Where's the gracious BD nation's at ? BD January 2024 schedule on the 12th, 13th, 14th had Brass and Battery camp, while two of those dates were also front assemble call back camps. I would love to be a fly on that wall. Anyhow i came across one leak music selection, not going to share it but it gives off a fun vibes. By the words of one of the designer on social media, this year show will be exciting.

That's easy to say about most any music. From pretty much any grandma's perspective, all that music that those young people are listening to is just crap. The limitless, no rules, vision can easily be taken too far and just muddies things. I'm not against having corps do side gigs. They could do something totally different on the side, but for DCI competition there are set rules which must be followed. If corps want to experiment, do it as a second and third thing in addition to, NOT in place of DCI. It's not the brush strokes that I care about, it's like looking at paintings versus painted sculpture to me. They're both painted, they're both art, but they are different.

It's all love brother. I will keep it 💯, me and my son was nervous at halftime lol. But Purdy put the team on his back and carried us in the second half. For real though, Detroit is legit. Us Niners fans have crazy respect for them. Lions are a young team. They will be a threat for years to come.

Yes…from their glory days. I taught for a competitor band back then and remember watching that show develop all season.

Yah. I've been listening to the 2023 season again as my brain wants drum corps again. This show is so musically well designed. And while I get the eyebrows at the visual design choices, they performed the snot out of it and it was bold and consistent. The score stalling puzzles me still too

Hopefully their budget has been limited enough this year that the sound system and electronic instruments had to be cut and props scaled way back. It’s time for today’s DCI fans to see and hear what Old School SCV can do in a new era.

I’m going with number three because that would be my motivation.
