Going on my own little rant here, but IMO, the Cadet's show is bad this year. It's not that it looks bad and it could use some improving, it's that the show is just crappy. I mean come on this is drum corps not a broadway musical. That's part of the same reason why I have problems with Crowns show this year is because it's not drum corps anymore. Drum corps is all about being loud and having a great hornline and percussion not a full on choir. It's just getting out of hand IMO. I love Crossmen's show this year because it has some really nice tunes and fits the field perfectly and doesn't have any crazy, overdone electronics or singing in it. It's really catchy and I don't necessarily want to go back to older drum corps days but I would like it if it were at least still "drum corps".

Cool. It comes down to everyone isn't going to like the same things. Cadets show is using the vocals in the original piece.

besides the choir they do have a great guard, drill, brass and percussion so maybe try to enjoy those instead

enjoy the season!

If it's of interest, a few photos of Cadets' performance in Pittsburgh can be seen starting here.

While I agree with you on the fact that singing isn't what drum corps should be, you should really listen to this Cadets show closely. That choir is doing a great job blending with the hornline and it add a great effect.

It is much more tastefully done than the singing being done in some other corps...

Why is it people aren't allowed to have an opinion opposing vocals or voice in bandcorps? Stephan has told me I sound wonderful when I sing in the shower. However! Just because I sound good in the shower to Stephan doesn't mean the neighbors like it. Now I'm going back to sleep.

Dear Beethoven, Liszt, Mahler, Vaughan Williams, Shostakovich, Orff,  Gorecki ... please lose the singers; this isn't a broadway musical!

I like the broadway show "Wicked" personally. OMG have you heard her voice?!?!?!?!?!?!
