N.E. Brigand
BD's use of white props is getting old. Every year their show sounds and looks similar. Nothing refreshingly new. By no means do BD's recent shows all sound alike. Just for starters, their low brass was much more prominent this year than last.
BRASSO
The Madison Scouts didn't win a regional in 1988. Older system, but still... True... they were out of the country for a significant part of that summer's competitive season if I recall... went to Europe... came back and shocked everybody at how good they were come Championships that year. Chief Guns
Question now is, can they finally 3peat. I think they can. BD was extremely young this year. We saw that corps grow up before our very eyes tonight. They are gonna be loaded next year. Next year will be their best chance to 3peat. In 2011 when they went for the 3peat i believe they had a huge loss in ageouts from the year before.
CrownBariDad
Again, I was pleased to see the Crown members go over to congratulate the Blue Devils at Retreat. It was a great season for both Corps! And for DCI!
littlejaw
Drunk Fan Theory #1: Crown lost due to the cockiness behind the switch to the gold fabric at the end of the show. Wait this isn't 2010. Oh wait... ;)
DrumManTx
Also, I really feel for the Cavies. This show wasn't worse than 2012, that's for sure. It had its issues, but I think they would have still been competing for 6th/7th tonight if the week between Atlanta and Allentown wouldn't have been spent being sick and healing. I really commend them for pushing through with a VERY great showing tonight all factors considered. Not to take away from Madison either, I assure you. They were VERY impressive tonight! Come out swinging next year.
