I'm very sorry you didn't make the Bluecoats, did you see if they needed help selling souvies?5 points

After first viewing I didn't think this show was vanilla at all. This is exactly the kind of show I love to see from Scouts. High energy, great music, LOUD hornline. The only thing I didn't love about this show was the voice, but I'm not a fan of that in general. Drumline is rocking with some great writing. THANK YOU for bringing back those uniforms!4 points

Sorry MeMaw for what I am about to say . . . are you F%#$ing kidding me????!!!! Oh Please, have the horns only, move 8 more counts at half time into a 1.5 step (or so) front that ends up connecting side to side between the first and second mini stages. PLEASE! And extend this four more half time counts. Will send this beyond over the top. Oh my. The most talented corps ever assembled ? EVER?3 points

i predict in 24 hours people will be comparing 2 shows with different judges hundreds of miles away from each other and finding a rationale behind it2 points

Well, Troop won't beat Bloo this year, but they brought fire tonight. Guard had probably their best run of the season. Brass and battery locked in. Visual is snapping into focus nicely, and some added touches throughout. Honestly I think the battery had a better show in Laramie, though I had a better vantage there than I did tonight. Score? I have no idea. But it was a strong performance. On to Denver!2 points

I had no choice but to subscribe this year. I am very very VERY unhappy! I think if they do not offer DVR next year I will just have to find other ways of watching! Go for it bootleggers! DO IT TO IT! Bite it DCI2 points

So BAC should be wrapping up 4 days of work work work which I hope translates to clean clean clean. Hope field staging is improved as well as movement of props. Mostly though I hope they open up brass volume and show off some of the trumpet and mello features and tough parts. They play a lot of stuff but it has gone unnoticed. Eat em up Boston.2 points

Madison Scouts and Blue Stars tie i mean they can only end up .7 apart so many times in a row2 points

Recently there was a topic about pseudointellectuals on DCP. I got to wondering who they were referring to. Now I know.2 points

Mandarins vs. OC vs. Cascades should be interesting! Hoping Cascades can get a nice jump, around 64. I want to see them do well, great show as said before.2 points

The souvies probably fail to meet his standards as well.2 points

A side effect of all this is the influx of full shows on video sharing sites. I've noticed takedowns a far less than in previous years and even then there are far more uploads than usual. Either the corps are overwhelmed with all the uploads or they realize themselves that fans have less options now to see their shows and are turning a blind eye (unlikely though) Wether DCI realized this or not, piracy will increase substantially just as it has with other markets. If you make it harder to access your content people will turn to other options. That's how its always been and how it will continue.2 points

I agree Boz! The Corps is high energy and I feel like that is increasing as they gain confidence with this product. But yeah, that "gotta dance" voice drives me nuts. If they took it out entirely, I don't think it would hurt the show at all. I do like how they replaced it at the end of the show with reprising the MGM Lion roar. Anyway, I love this show and it's growing on me big time!2 points

Well I mean the scores go with the elevation i guess. Hopefully we don't have shows in new orleans.2 points

I just had to giggle a little. In other threads when a favorite corps gets a position switch or score bump we sometimes see supporters of said corps say things like "now we see xyz corps take off, we will be [insert wishful thinking here]" or similar. But a few "nice score" posts is a "hype cloud." Lol! Anyway, there is joy, plus a healthy dose of skepticism, among the folks I know in Troop Nation. One score doesn't make a trend.2 points

Thank you for your positive comments! I think they have finally found the right staff, formula, etc. to be able to move forward now.2 points

I like to go see drum corps shows to hear the brass and percussion. If I wanted to hear singing, I'd go to a choir concert. Simple as that.2 points

I think there's something to be said for the fact that clips that are put out there of PR are most often big powerful ballad moments. Other corps get a lot of clips of them warming up playing the technical parts of the show and that's cool and yea, sure, regiment may not have too awful many of those, but they've still managed to do what regiment does best. Personally I think this is the best show they've put out in the last couple years (and I marched in the last couple years). Regardless of placement, Regiment is still Regiment. My experience performing with PR was everything I had hoped for and more even though we placed "poorly". I think that is what's important. Unless you're a vet who's been there a really long time, you don't know what the administration is doing or why and frankly you don't care. It's about making the most of your experience. I trusted that the staff working to give me a good experience and I was not disappointed.2 points

So we're just gonna let em run rampantly and completely off topic AND calling us a bunch of unnecessary bull ####. Lol. Maybe no one agreeing with you is a big fat sign you are just being completely silly and rude and deflective. Might wanna change your delivery strategy and actually be able to support and defend your arguments you are trying to make. Good day sir. Though I agree the sheer novelty and entertainment is pretty off the charts.1 point

I mean, don't get me wrong, my Blue Stars will pull ahead in the end :-) but seriously I haven't been entertained by the Scouts like this for a long time, and it was so refreshing.1 point

Good heavens. At least there is some realism from some people in here. I can hardly see through the hype cloud. It is not a full panel and it is a home show. If you put much stock into this score, you're going to have a bad time. Don't believe me? Go back to the hype train after the BAC victory. People lack perspective.1 point

I get it, I appreciate the article (and said so), and my comments were not directed at you or the paper but, rather, at DCI. If I'm a potential sponsor who sees that video in all the excitement of this week's show, and I take what it purports as a basis of becoming a sponsor and, only later, find out that there are 104 shows, not "more than 130" stated in the video, or that streaming of legacy shows is not available, or that DCI hasn't been on ESPN for, um, several years... With the legal headaches of copyright threats hanging over their heads, I can't imagine DCI would be pleased to also be accused of bait-and-switch. Seriously, somewhere in the last $100million or so generated by DCI in the last decade I would think they could find the funds to update THE marketing video on their site that promotes the activity to the public. Maybe I expect too much.1 point

Agreed. In every show there are few things that one really loves so altering or removing one of those things is like a stab in the back by the design team!1 point

Dude, I love your posts and your optimism about Crown this year. REALLY glad to see someone agreeing with me in every variety. I'm pumped!1 point
